Wonderful country home – Cassinasco
Property Ref: HIP095
Good sized charming country house hidden away among beautiful vineyards and with the most wonderful views. While the house is close to the charming hilltop village of Cassinasco – with its restaurants, cafe and the renowned Antica Casa Faccio who have handcrafted Torrone (fresh nougat) for centuries – it remains ideal for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and simply enjoy the calmness of nature.
Recently the owner has agreed to include additional land to the property, thus creating the possibility to build a fantastic infinity swimming pool project with ample space for a secluded terrace while still having enough space for garden and parking for a couple of cars. We have included an aerial photo of the land and marked up where we envisage the pool and terrace.
Description
This structurally sound building is located on a sunny hillside and is relatively easy to modernise and set up to your personal taste and requirements.
The house itself is laid out over 2 floors with the ground floor consisting of 2 good sized rooms on either side of a classic Piemontese luserna stone staircase plus a kitchen at the back. On the first floor the house consists of two larger than normal bedrooms with access to a Piemontese balcony plus a large bathroom with access to a separate charming terrace overlooking the surrounding valleys and hilltops.
While you as the new owner will have complete freedom to design the interiors to your requirements and taste we envisage that on the ground floor the current kitchen and living room is combined and that a large double glass door with direct access to the south facing terrace is created. This will not only fill the kitchen / dining room with light but allow you to soak in the views of the landscape as the colours change throughout the year. Still on the ground floor but on the other side it seems logical to establish a cosy living room with a wood burning stove and direct access to another terrace.
On the first floor one will have the possibility to create either 3 good sized bedrooms, of which one could be en-suite, or perhaps even 4 bedrooms with a couple of modern bathrooms. In any of the two options all the bedrooms would have access to a balcony which on the one side would overlook the vineyards and other the other both vineyards and the garden.
In the practical garden, you will find another classic Piemonte feature: A crotin (as a matter of fact there are two). These are caves carved out of the super hard clay and in past times used for storing vegetables, curing meat and general storage of tools used in the time when the vineyards were tendered by hand. In modern times these are ideal for creating e.g. an outdoor kitchen with large rustic table and benches and big candelabras on the walls – an ideal place to entertain family and friends.
In general, the garden is easy to maintain yet big enough for parking a couple of cars. The property located at the end of a small driveway which leads you up to the house. At the end of the road there is a gate giving you total privacy.
The house is connected to communal electricity and water. Drainage is as always with these farmhouses via a septic tank. The access road is partly asphalt and partly solid gravel securing you easy access at any time of the year.
